I shared with Hugh a love for music and Photography; whilst as a doctor I knew of the inexorable decline he faced with his condition. A decline that he faced with not only enormous courage and determination, but also with great dignity and even rarer the ability to make the most of what remained to preserve as much of his good humour and warmth towards visitors for as long as possible. It was therefore all the more unfair that this wretched Covid pandemic imposed an extra imposition of isolation in his final months. We have all lost a lovely man.
